Hi Mark,

Any info on how the '97 was equipped??

Seems that if you go with a softer shock and tire setup handling will suffer. Any data on the '97 would help get us in the right direction.

I drove a '97 840ci with more miles than my car, and it seemed much tighter with less vibration over bumps and rough roads. Mine has 46k on stock shocks and Michelin Pilot HXs. I had my dealer check out my suspension and steering, but they couldn't find anything wrong. The car still feels like glass on smooth roads. Any advise on a shock/tire combination that would create a smoother ride on rough roads?
