I like Fords, actually. It's a family thing. I have a nice '95 5.8L Eddie Bauer Bronco that I really like a lot. It'll get me to just that right fishing spot by the mountain lake.
But anyone who has owned a BMW (especially our lovely Eights) knows how wonderful an extremely well-designed and built automobile can be. My 840 is as close to a swiss watch in an automobile as I've ever experienced. It's a six year old car, and there are ZERO squeaks and rattles. Everything down to the tiniest detail is "just so". It runs and drives with a self-assured grace that I've not experienced in any other car. Never before have I driven a vehicle at 135MPH that seemed so completely comfortable and casual at that speed -- it's fully designed to operate at that speed, just like any other vehicle runs at 50MPH. It's not that exciting to go 135 in this car, it's *relaxing*. It's calm. It's the most natural thing in the world.
