Talk about cheap - you should see the cheesy way BMW attaches the cable to the release mechanism. It's an S-shaped fitting guaranteed to work itself loose, eventually. Reattachment takes a few seconds of threading it back into a bracket.Removing the seatback is made slightly more difficult because you MUST remove the headrest bracket cover. Two very small holes, requiring insertion of an ice-pick (or similar) to release the catches. Tip: Move seat cushion to max low point to expose second, inside release pinhole.
IIRC, the two seat back cover screws are actually TORQ bolts, pretty small ones at that.
