Was DSC standard or optional past a particular year on the E31's? My impression on ice with the E38's was that the DSC gave incredible handling on curves, versus my E32 with ASC+T.

The E31 features are not always the same in every country and year. I have a 95 that came with the DSC and the 96 Canadian brochure says DSC is standard in the 850 and not available in the 840, which has ASC+T standard. DSC will maximize the roadholding ability of the car but it cannot save you if you are going too fast in a turn. When you are on ice in a turn does the light activate to let you know DSC is saving you from disaster?
