Jim, fix the car now. Get a good mechanic, get a motel, fix the car in one day and then be on your way with no problems. The other way is like trying to drive home on a half flat tire that you have to stop and put air in every 100 miles. Not a good or safe way to travel with the tire or the brake problem Fix the car IMHO and have some peace of mind. Your world will wait, believe me.
Good luck, Kurt

Made it to east coast to get car. Has bad seals in power assist unit and requires about a quart of chf 7.1 fluid every 100-200 miles on interstate and much more if stuck in traffic. (Yes, I know the leak is bad} Is it safe for me and car to continue to drive adding fluid regularly until I can get the new unit put in??

Justin and I tried to work this problem out before I got car (he had part overnighted for Saturday delivery but the mechanic for various reasons didn't get it installed and I really need to head back) but I must either stay away from home longer than planned or spend a small fortune on fluid to get home. Don't mind the small fortune if it won't hurt me or the car.

Thanks,

Jim
