Although Laszlo may be right about potential problems if the cars aren't driven or maintained....I'd truly believe not all low-mileage cars fall into the possible 'problem' category. I've seen in earlier posts Lazlo's contention that as time passes, cars, regardless of mileage, tend to end up costing the same. You might be right...but after how many years? 5? 10? 20? 30?
The Reno car has been for sale for as long as I can remember. Everytime I see it for sale, it comes down in price. $39K is about right for this car at this age, price, and maintenance that has a manual transmission. 1991-93 850's with 6spd manuals with less than 20K miles are going for $36K to $45K this past year (I've been tracking them).
I noted recently there was a '94 850CSi in the Boston area that had 8,700 miles that sold for $76K. Roughly, that car was driven on average 1,450 miles per year, or 120 miles per month. Was that out of line? Could that car have problems being on the east coast in a moist environment?
At some point, I think the prices will stop dropping...stabilize...and then perhaps increase as the 850's become known as the Dusenbergs of the 1990's. It's my dream guess.....
Anyway, these cars are sure darn fun!

P.S. Laszlo: a white 850 is a lady magnet for guys...at least that's what I'm told by one who had one this past year.
