My 1993 850 Ci has the factory Alpine 3 button remote transitter with an internal removable chip. Later model E31's came with a key that had a minature transmitter built into the head. Will this key/transmitter work with the older factory systems? I have been told yes by one dealer and no by another. The key cost about $150, so I would like to be sure before I order it.
