Len,
That all being said, If you have all ready decided on the other 850, if you are a color guy and are set on Silver, the only difference here is the 30 to 40,000 mi. Nothing to worry or even be concerned about with a car capable of 300,000 mi. Also, you will have the warrantee, and you should be able to make the car perfect using that warrantee and a lot of attention on your part. So, if color is important please feel good about your purchase. I just thought it was only fair and proper to give you the choice of such a fine car as Stevens 7,000 mi car.
Good Luck and Welcome to the group!
Kdg

Wow Len,
You didn't tell me the price before, thats a good chunk, I think most of us thought you were paying a much lower price conducive with a 40 to 50,000mi car. If you are going to be paying that kind of money I hope I'm not too late to tell you about a car in Va. that is virtually new with only approx 7,000 mi on it for about $51,000 that also has a warrantee and is a perfect car with aftermarket wheels and tires as well. It is a Beatuful dark green and is supposed to be a perfect car. You should contact Stephen the owner immediately if you can before you buy the other car. I hope you get this e-mail in time.

Stephens Information:
Gelco Information Network
Attn: Stephen Spears
1860 Michael Faraday Drive # 150
Reston, VA 20190

- Also, Stephen is a regular poster on the bimmer website. His car will be quite superior to the one you are thinking of buying with steering problems and noise etc. Check Stephens out first, especially since he's fairly close to you.

Also, as far as the car (850) being heavy and not capable of autocross, the dealer you talked to doesn't know these cars at all, the 8 has been proven to be just as tossable as almost any of the smaller autocross cars and in fact superior when you add the power. They take corners like a bug with a vacuum attached when driven properly. Call Stephen if it's not too late at the number and e-mail above.
Good Luck Kurt
