Message from a reader of the board. (archive)

I received the following e-mail from a reader of the board today as is posted as follows. He also sent an attachment that I (computer illiterate) could not open, so I am posting his message here and then I am posting my answer to him just below this. I hope others in his area with actual expertise can help him in his search for a car. Our group does seem to be growing by leaps and bounds.

Would really appreciate help from an experienced enthusiast. Really nervous
about buying a used car, but love the 850. What is the C versus i versus Ci
designation indicative of. When did they stop making them... I am in
Cambridge MA, but want to buy one in Dallas... any suggestions for how I
