I had bird droppings on my hood a while back. I tried everything to get it out but no joy. My insurance company agreed to pay for a repaint (with my $100 deductible). I was afraid the repaint wouldn't match so I had the body shop give it one last (really aggressive) cut polish, knowing that if they went through the clear coat I could go for the repaint.

Knowing that the insurance company was onside gave the body shop a fall back position and they really went at it and got the marks out completely.
