Again, I'm not affiliated with Hendrick, but I just had a good experience with the parts dept. Ordered a set of Euro turn signals which they had to order in (Zygmunt said they couldn't even find them in stock or in Germany). They said they would try their best to get them and they did. They found them in Germany, had them shipped to them in 6-days and to me in another 5. The parts guys were professional, polite, humorous (a bit hard at times to understand the southern accent) but most of all they kept you informed to let you know the status of the order. Reasonable price compared to the the dealers in the SF Bay Area that want $310/side even if they could find them. Hendrick $210/side less 25% off for BMWCCA members. It was like getting two for the price of one in out here.

Kudos to Steve Castle who supplied the correct part numbers to me. I'll probably end up e-mailing him too if I have any problems installing them since he's done it all. Hey Stan, as my local guru here you're in my prayers too.

First thanks to all of you, I asked for advice about a sivler 96 850 about 2 weeks ago. I bought the car from Hendrick BMW in Charlotte, NC. I told the used car sales manager that I had some concerns about buying rare car without having it checked over by an outside source. He understood and offered to do whatever it took to make me happy. That impressed me. He then offered to have his top mechanic go over the car and talk with me about it. I agreed and told the mechanic to go through it "like it was your car." He did and found some things that weren't caught the first time. Bottom line: the dealer is installing a new catalytic converter, air freighted directly from Germany, has recalibrated the steering box, rebalanced improperly balanced new tires and done some other things, all without charge to me. We hear a lot about bad dealers, I thought it only fair to highlight one dealer that is trying to do the right thing. I have no connection with this dealer, except that this is the third car I'm buying from him.
