Conversion of Euro Cars to US Spec (archive)

I will be living in Germany for about 18 months and I am considering returning to the US with a German spec 8 series.

I will be returning to the East Coast. I would be most appreciative for leads to reputable vendors who perform these services. Indications of cost and time needed would be good too. Also, comments from anyone who has actually been through it would be great.
