Bay Area 8's Gathering........ (so far 16 E31s) (archive)

As you know harvesting season is over and grapes have been crushed and are fermenting. After the fermentation takes place the wine is then put into barrels for aging.

On the above weekend the wineries offer barrel tasting of all the new wines. You may also purchase futures on these wines at a much lower cost than they will be offered to the public upon bottling.

The trick is to be able to tell which wines will be great and which will be not so great. {;-))) However, it is a lot of fun.

I would like to invite the Bay Area 8's, if you are interested, for a Potluck breakfast gathering before we leave for the barrel tasting, and a potluck BBQ at my home on Saturday the 3rd after the tasting trip.
