Hi all
I have asked this before but I wondered if anyone else had any ideas!
I have replaced the truck steering wheel on my 99 840 with a Racing Dynamics version. Problem is....the airbag warning light is now illuminated and after chatting with my local BMW dealer.zzzzzzz...who said there is nothing on this earth he can do about it [surprise!] I wondered if any of you guys may have a solution besides going back to the Titanic wheel?
I wouldve thought that removing the bulb would be an option but I believe that to get behind the instrument binnacle would involve a total rebuild!
Cheers and thanksIf the new wheel has an airbag (?), it is possible to reset the SRS system. The car has a fault detect system that iluminates the light, if for example the airbag is disconnected while the ignition is on. If it doesn't have a bag, you will probably be relegated to removing the bulb. The instrument binnacle comes out relatively easily.
