Strip the old wax before using the cleaning clay, and use the clay with LOTS of lubrication (water or something like Griot's Speedshine). Don't work it in too hard. Then use a good polish and buff it out. Use a wax that you can put many layers on without problem. Most show waxes can be applied a few times over. This way you can polish once (or twice) a year and wax every few months.
