Hi Waj

The E31s never had the pass through, like the E36, to the trunkspace. Only like your car, fold down "trays" and a skibag.

regards
carl

Lazlo,

What year did they introduce the fold down rear seat? My seats fold down, but there is no passthrough to the trunk other than the ski bag. Does your 97 have passthrough to the trunk?

Waj
I think it was 1993 (9-92) when they upgraded the interior a little bit. They used different leather and plastic. The shape remained same all the way up to 99.
If the car was made before 9-92 that is the older stuff, after 9-92 then it is newer. I saw both, not much different. the leather feels softer and also the plastics are felt a little bit softer. But we talking about minor differences only ! The bigger change was the foldable rear seat in the interior. Suspension got a little harsher due to the more aggressive damping in the automatic versions (manual was same) and I think that is all
