Maybe we can indeed assume that the fuel pomp causes the inconvenience?
Thank you Gilbert for your response, what you suggest sounds very logical and we will check it out.
Are there any more members of this forum with suggestions of what might cause this trouble??
Thanks upfront,
Rudy
If you had a fuel pump go bad, it would only run on one bank, similar to limp home mode. I assume the 850 has two fuel pumps? If its a bad fuel pump that would explain why it came back to life, then died again. You can hear them under the trunk/tank of the 750. You can also hit the bottom of the tank under the pumps with your fist or a chunk of wood or a rubber hammer and see if the pump starts up again, groaning due to bad bearings. It should give the code for low fuel pressure if that's it. I suppose in a cold climate the engine would not warm up while running on six cylinders.
Good luck.
Hello everybody,
I drove tonight with my car and the car made a strange noise, I lost all the horsepower!!!
Suddenly at one time the power came back and later it was gone again.
I drove about a distance of 50 km. and when I came home the engine was cold…..
Normally I can’t touch my hands on it because I would burn them!
The temperature meter was standing between zero and the middle, normally it always stands in the middle.
Please can anybody tell me what is wrong with my car
