Lez,

I couldn't have said it better myself. I drive my 850 for the experience of driving. If I want to watch a movie, I stay at home and enjoy it with a cold drink; and the fridge is footsteps away if I want another one. I have 5 computers at home and I drive the 850 to get away from all of that. The last thing I need is to have my notebook in the car!!

As far as the GPS goes, who cares if I get lost?? Half the fun is finding my way back to where I was going!! At least I am lost in an 850 and not a Ford Probe!!

As you can see, I drive my 850 to get away from home rather than try to take it with me. Then again, I am thinking about about putting a microphone next to the tailpipes and recording the music that comes from them and playing it in Dolby Surround in my living room!!

I mean we saw the followings in cars :

- 3 TV sets
- VCR
- DVD
- Sony playstation
- Camera hook-up
- Mini bar / refridge
- GPS
- mobile/cell phone
- Note-book

but the 8 series is not made for this. Buy an X5 or better yet a Suburban or Honda/Chryler Van and install those into that car/van. then you'll have space and still can enjoy these machines which I think belong to my living room and kitchen not into my car.
There are reasons BMW did not installed an armrest into the car. Hands on the steering wheel idea ...
The car is meant to be driven and with max. 1 passenger. You can squeeze 2 kid on the back seat but not meant to be. Those seats are for tax purpose only. If a car is 2 seater the taxes in certain counrties are much higher then if it has 4 seats. Even if they are so small a 4 y/o can fit there, it is a seat !
So although it is a great idea to have a refridge in the 750iL or 740iL which was built for a rear seat passenger, the 8 series was built for a driver and a very enthusiast one.
I'd keep that $2,000 and buy a nice set of wheels for $1,500 and put the rest of the $500 into a glove box. Every time you are on the road, stop and buy a cold drink from that $500. When you are done with the 500 then just move to canada where the drinks stays cool in a trunk most of the time.

BTW: newer car has a smart refridge inside ! The glove box has a small vent hole, and the A/C pumps cold air into the glove box or hot depends on what you have it set to.
On summer time your drink stays cool, winter time your drink stays warm. Smart ? I think it is !
Check out the new VW Passat and you understand what I'm talking about !
That is much easier task and can be done with a friction of the cost of the refridge !
