you don't know BMW's at all ! The Z3 M is one of the fastest of all the BMW's. Of course it left you behind... even the US version had 243HP and good amount of torque and a european version had 321HP and slightly more torque.
The car is much quicker then any 8 series including the CSI. I suggest to read about the Z's and M3's and their heritage. Have you heard about the M5 ? No, not then new one, the old E34 inline 6 M5 ? Not ? Well that car will leave you in a dust also ! 3.8l I6 with 340HP and awesome handling ! While the Z3 is a small little beast but a very fast an M5 is a big car, but almost as quick as the M3.
You got your lesson, go and pay your duty. Read about them and you'll be suprised ! Both te Z3 Coupe and Roadster are very good little cars built in the US with german quality. Their M version is just even better ! Very highly appreciated cars and for a good reason.
The current BMW line up :
- Z3 1.9l(Eu only), 2.5l, 3.0l M3 (3.3l)
- 3 series 316i, 318i, 318Td, 320i, 320d, 325i, 330i, 330d, and a station wagons...
- 5 series 520i, 530d, 530i, 535i,540i,540Td, M5
- 7 series 730i, 735i, 740i, 750i, 730d, 740d
- Z8
- X5 3.0i, 4.4l, 4.6l

I probably left a few out, but this is a long list and unless you know all you don't know them at all
