I have been very interested in an SVX since it first came out so I have done alot of research on the car and can tell you that it is not that fast. It too is a heavy car and is meant as a GT car much like the 850...however, when you look at all the specs and 0-60 times, even the 850 auto should be able to take it on. The early SVXs had 0-60 times of low 7's but the later ones were high 7's because Subaru had to update their tranny's to make them more reliable. That's why I chose an 850 over an SVX, an 850 has a more reliable transmission and it doesn't have the wheel bearing problems of an SVX...Subaru simply didn't have the expertise to make a GT car that is on the same level as an 850...SVXs do look really nice though! And in rainy or snowy weather the SVX will smoke an 850 easily due to its AWD. If I sold my 850 to get a lower cost car, I would probably consider an SVX.
