Thanks for your response.
What are the costs of a new vent flap from the heater core?
You talked about getting to the flap through the glove compartment, do you have more specifique details (maybe on a scanned picture) of how to get there and what to open? I saw several ducts, and would like to have a little more details on which one the plastic components are in?
So, in short terms: can you tell me how I can change the vent flap so there is cold air coming out of the vent, because the nice weather is coming here.

The reason I asked is that the HVAC system has some plastic components behind the dash in the air ducts that close and open to redirect airflow. These plastic components wear and you find yourself unable to get heat (or in your case cool) from specific vents. In my car, the front left vents will not blow heat (obviously the vent flap from the heater core for those vents is broken and stuck closed--which sounds opposite of yours if it is the same problem). It has been documented before here on the forumn and in a 8 mail group I am in. If indeed that is the case you may be better off than I because I have heard the right side component can be reached from the glove box when it is removed. Unfortunately, mine would requre removal of the dash. That a fairly expensive operation if out of warranty, but in my case I am actually MUCH more concerned about the fact that I have heard that once the dash has been removed you will never get rid of all the squeaks once it is reinstalled. I have learned to live with mine due to these facts and I just direct the heat flow out the other vents and either turn the two left vents off when I need heat or leave them open for a cool/hot mixture. In the summer, the aircon still blows out both sides, so it is only affecting the heat operation.
