Thanks. I know that 296 is the stock 5-liter HP. The point I was trying to make to Jeff in response to his query about the increases in HP/torque from new chips -- and perhaps my post was unclear -- was that the maximum difference in HP output at a specific rpm was at 5500 rpm. At that point Dinan claims that its chips and exhaust produce 335 HP while the output of the stock engine with stock exhaust at those rpm is 282 HP, for a difference of 53 HP. I recognize that's far from the entire story, which is why I offered to fax him Dinan's charts and other information.

Jeff --
I have the Dinan engine (it takes two, one for each cylinder bank) and transmission chips with the Remus exhaust. According to Dinan, the HP/Torque with the engine/transmission chips and the free-flow exhaust is 335hp/375 fps. That's a maximum increase, depending on the revs, of 53hp(335hp @ 5500rpms as compared to stock 282 @ 5500 rpms) and 56 f/p of torque (275 fps @ 6000 rpms as compared to 219 fps stock). But you need to look at their tables which give the HP/torque numbers all across the rev range to get a clear understanding of what that means. (For example, the max torque claimed by Dinan is 375 at 4500 rpms, but that's only an increase of 38 fps over the stock figure of 337 at 4500 rpms.) I have the tables and if you'll send me your fax number I'll be glad to fax them to you. Now, I of course can't vouch for the accuracy of Dinan's numbers, but I can tell you that there's a noticeable difference in the way the car drives with those upgrades.
