The R50 is based on the 4.4l V8 engine and supercharged after boring it to 5.0l. Mnay company did 4.6l and 4.8l conversions before, I had never seen a 5.0l. The M5's engine also 5.0l and based on the 4.4l V8 so it can be done of course.
I've also heard about the twin-turbo'd 850i made by Dinan. Everything about 850 has to be twin since the dual electronics, 2 throttle body, etc.
so a supercharger has to be dual also.

where would they put the charger that's my question ! On the pass. side you could remove the washer tanks and gain some space, but the driver side is full ! Is there a place for the superchargers ?
Turbos were placed underneath the engine and they were very difficult to install. Dinan initially wanted some 60k USD for the twin-turbo mods.

That is some crazy money for an extra power but people have paid a lot more for 600HP cars !
