Carl

Thanks for the interest. Actually, I own a v12 1991 850i. Problem's the car was parked unused for about two years before I bought it. Yeah. you guessed, I had to practically refurbish it. New fuel pumps, plug wires, injectors etc. Turns out the car worked well for about three months before I started to notice this power loss, and slowed acceleration. My mechanic takes a look and says plugs 6 and 8 are soaking fuel. I have an engineering background, though I don't have much experience with cars, so , I start to think what might be wrong.

Unfortunately my mechanic is not a BMW mechanic, and I live very far from quality attention for this car. So, I need help. Also, the ASC light is permanenetly on, the EDC lights are on permanently too and I don't think the gadget works. My car's just done 66k km on the odometer, so I am anxious to repair it, 'cause otherwise, its a pleasure to drive. Can you help me? The mechanic is willing he just needs direction. any DIY books available for this monster? Thanks

tunzees
