I like Patrick BMW !!! KNUAS BMW is good too .... (archive)

I live in Schaumburg, IL and also have experience with Patrick BMW. The service reps and service managers are very friendly, namely Erik and Dean. They have given me several freebes, such as mounting and balancing new tires. I also feel that they are very honest with me. Recently, I took my 93 850Ci in for what I thought was due for an Inspection II. They looked over the car and told me I didnt need an Inspection II, only a brake and coolant flush (and they didnt charge me for looking at it). An expected $500+ service only came in at $100.
However, when I wanted my Supersprint Exhaust installed I didnt get the warm and fuzzies from Patrick BMW that they could do it. They couldnt order it for me and hemmed and hawed about installing it. I instead went to KNAUS BMW (which is a reseller of Supersprint) to have it installed. The technicians and parts department seem to have excellent knowledge of the 8-Series and installed the exhuast perfectly and in no time at all.

For major service items I recommend KNAUS BMW.
But since I live close to Patrick BMW I will give them the small stuff.

It all depends on who you deal with. Your friend must have talked to the wrong guy on the wrong day. Have him talk to Erik Swanson. You will get much better service from him.

A friend went there for battery replacement and after being told they would call with a price before doing ANYTHING, they tried to charge $50 for "checking" the car. They wanted $260 for the new battery--ha ha. I guess they thought they could at least get the $50....
be cautious of their scam. (see archives for more unhappy dealings with this dealer.....)
