Thanks to Rick Row of North Bay Bavarian, Santa Rosa, CA.
His persistency, tenacity and superb customer relations has, I think, finally solved the problem.
For a whicle I thought that I had added a new button to the OBC. Push the button and the car was on auto pilot to North Bay Bavarian.
We replaced the 2 seals on each of the pressure regulators.
Injector seals, and fuel hoses.
We tried various fuel hoses wich still leaked when cold. But when the engine warmed up there was no problem. To add to the frustration.... for several days at a time..there would be no leaks. Then all of a sudden there was a gusher. Literally!! It would stop in a couple of minutes. However the fire danger was rather high during that time.
BMW has a fuel hose which has a kevlar mesh built into the hose. Several dealers and parts departments do not even stock this hose.
It is amazing stuff. When you cut regular fuel hose with a pair of cutters. it is very easy to cut. This fuel hose is the hardest material I have ever tried to cut. It took most of my hand strength with two hands to actually cut through it. Even then, it took three cuts.
I think we have finally licked the problem.
