it's a same old storie. "Have it rebuilt" why ? If nothing else wrong then why go all the trouble and change everything when you only need a repair ?
Not many places though, have you tried BMW rebuild unit replacement ? If you must spend 3,500USD better not spend it on a little shop at Texas but pay it to the dealer with warranty. They will sell you a complete rebuild unit and you can have it installed by an independent shop.
