Re: germanydirect CDs (archive)

The OTHER interesting thing was my reply to that post is now missing too. I have paid for these CDs and now await their delivery. From what I understand, there is no hokey-pokey, just an unsual trade zone, so to speak. Apparently it is a requirement by law in Switzerland to have this info available to anyone who would like to purchase it and use a reasonably standard access to it (e.g. a normal not specialized pc or OS).

BMW just chooses (as is their right) to distribute these CDs to the public ONLY in Switzerland and nowhere else not required. These guys are just enterprising and purchased several sets for resale - also apparently unrestricted once purchased legally in Switzerland, which they did. So their story goes ... no if there is some other restriction or trade restraint known by anyone, including or especially this site master, I would think it irresponsible to just whisk the stuff away without explanations. Seems only the site master can really manipulate content here, unlike others (e.g. UBB boards), where at least the poster are responsible and empowered to edit their own posts. Seems like it would save a lot of space on roadfly's servers if we purge our own junk, especially the over-and-over duplicated replies - what were they thinking about making this the default post followup routine -

Anyway, as for the germanydirect CDs - when/if I get them, I'll post about 'em.
