both very good engines. The V8 pushes more out of it capability as the V12 is really understressed.
I like the V8 and I think the 4.4l V8 matches the early 5.0l 850i 4spd auto in term of performance. The downside of the V8, hard to go higher without paying too much or having a major rebuild (also expensive)

The M5's V8 engine is what a E31 should deserve in my Opinion. or maybe a 4.6l Alpine engine with 350HP ?

ANyway the car is pretty no matter what engine do they have stuffed into the engine bay. I'd love that car with an inline 6 and 256HP also. (635i engine) but of course then we would spend most of the time and money to make it fast and torque enough to handle the big body, or shaving off weight as both does the same - makes more smile on our face !
