1991 850i Electrical Problems? (archive)

I have a '91 850i and I my batteries are dead (they don't start the car and the windows have a hard time moving when I lift door handle).

I have the new batteries on order (spoke with the dealership and they have to get it from Germany, I ordered it last week, errr).

SO anyway, I haven't started the car in a week, and when I started it, the EML light went on. Of course I jumped it with this portable battery jumper ma-bob. When I accerated from park, it VERY hesitated. When I floored it it won't go over, umm.. I think 4000 rpm. When I turned it off and restarted it, with the battery jumper, it seemed fine. I drove it around with mixed driving style for about maybe an hour. The light didn't come on during that time.

Any Ideas why that may be happening? Would it be happening because of the dead batteries? I'm not going to drive it because I'm afraid of any more issues this can cause.

I have up talking with the dealership... Any information would help me Greatly! Thanks.

Marc
