Just something to share with the board:

I had the pleasure of testdriving a 850 CSi from 1995 (blue on black leather).
Very nice sound, but a little loud; however I think the silencers were not in perfect working order to say the least, so that might explain things (they were very correded).

Asking price was about $ 30.000. Not much you would say. But it had covered 200.000 km (and not as the salesperson said: 100.000 km - big difference).
Other smal problems:
- Rear sunblind didn't go down (jammed)
- passenger seat step-in mechanism didn't work
- 18" Alpina's were damaged (cerb-damage)
- warped front discs

But the biggest downfalls to me were:
- no sportseats
- ugly looking woodtrim (also damaged) - stricly personal of course

Smaller downfalls:
- less options (no headlight washers; no automatic dimming rearview mirror; no lumpbar support)
- small scratches all over

Things I liked:
- the engine-power :-)
- the 6-speed (after warming up)
- the four wheel steering :-))
- the steering wheel (smaller than mine)
- the way it starts and sounds at tick-over

Some questions I have:
- I thought all CSi's came with the sportseats; was it an option to select the 'normal' seats?
- in the trunk there was a extra black box located at the left side near the backseat which could be 'flipped' down. What could that be?

Another testdrive:
I took my 850iA to Germany. Didn't get a chance to hit the limimeter (other traffic; turns and going uphill prevented that).
But I took it for a 240 km/h fast turning highway (at that speed it started to get exciting in the turns) and some B-roads with lots of turns in it (just the right kind for a big car).
Friends of mine mentioned that it hold to the road very well but because you couldn't hear how fast it was going it didn't seem any problem to take it up to the kind of speeds we were doing. A think the CSi (with its better sound and feel) would have been much better.
But it was a very enjoyable ride!
