Looks like Peter's friend has me beat at 197,700 miles! However, I'm approaching 147,000 miles and I don't expect to even THINK about engine problems until well over 250,000 miles. If my Ford (acronyms go here__________________________) can go for 260,000 miles so far with only a head gasket change and oil changes every 15,000 miles on Dino oil(95% highway use), I expect my BMW to last for close to 500,000 miles with synth oil changes every 3K miles. OK, so I'm an optimist.

However, I'm beginning to find that the less I allow "BMW technicians" to touch my car, the better off I am.
