Fuel leak.... (archive)

Hi all

Just reread the archives and it would seem that the underseat sender unit is prone to leaking thruo the gasket. Does anybody know whether there was a recall for this problem as when the rear seat was removed at least 1/2 pint of fuel was sloshing around which isn't too reassuring !!
All the breakdown guy did was retighten the large, I think plastic, nut and problem was cured but the car leaked over 2 pints of fuel in the hour I was waiting for the guy to turn up.
