Randy,

I have provided a link to a post I made a while back regarding this very issue. I found a direct correlation which was subsequently backed up by about 11 V12 owners of 7 and 8 series autos. This may not be your problem but some teltale signs that the PCV/Flow control valves are bad is do you have a oil puddle underneath the oil cap catch and if you take off the oil fill cap while th engine is running and by placing your hand if you have positive crankcase pressure. I was running 1 qt every 400 miles and now I run about 2300 miles per qt. But be aware that oil useage in a V12 is not necessarily bad. Some owners to a much previous post by Mikael Borgstrom indicated they could go from oil change to change without loss, others said they used a qt or 2 between oil changes. It all depends on how you drive. I drive my 750 hard. It gets redlined through 3 gears everytime I drive it. I cruise on non congested freeways at 80-90. I weekly peak it out in a sacred spot at 130-150. so my oil useage is acceptable to me and the engine is fine. This may not be your problem but it can't hurt to look into this.

Goto the link, more story there.

Kurt:

As you and I have spoken before, I had my oil changed a week ago since this last Friday. I went about 650 miles and the monitor said to check the engine oil level. One quart of 20w-50 was added today and that puts me about half way between the two lines on the dipstick. Once again, the engine runs great, there is no smoke; however, I tend to go 80-100mph on the highway w/o thinking about it. Kurt, even if there is excessive valve clearance, or worn valve guides, do I realistically need to either rebuild the engine, trade it in, or could I simply add oil and change the plugs more often if necessary and simply go about my business without hurting anything? There is no smoke and no funny noises.
