As a current owner of an E31 I feel sad that our cars are becoming cheap and devauled in part becuase of ignorant journalism. I want my car to maintain its value to some extent and still be a prize for others to aquire. When the car becomes cheap, people who cant afford to maintain the car or dont care to maintain it end up owning it. This only perpetuates the myth that this car is problematic and unreliable and results in more devauluation. Its like a downward spiral.

The bad news is that the car will likely never shake the poor reputation given it by BMW dealers and the motoring press, regardless of the reality that hundreds of us here have come to know.
The good news is that while misleading, this contradiction makes a beautiful, rare,reliable, solidly built, high performance coupe relatively inexpensive.
