My car is in the shop now for the trans fail safe code. They're not quite sure what the cause is, but it looks like the cam position sensor. See the thread I started, "'91 850 Problem: TRANS FAIL-SAFE PROG" on 5/2/01 for details. My car went into limp home mode and was sluggish too.

If the transmission valve body was bad or stuck, would the trans-failsafe indicator come on? Do you think changing the transmission oil will solve this?
