What seems to be the determining factor is that BMW is releasing the 6.0 liter V12 4 valve per cylinder engine this summer for production next year in the 2002 760il. Heads, and/or complete engines will be available without the having to build them from scratch starting with two M3 donor cores.

I know I know; throw enough $$$$$$ at anything and it is possible. But would it be within reasonable cost?

I have yet to do any research as far as how everything might line up but from my understanding, BMW super-glued two 6's together to make this V-12. Would a four-valve head from any BMW six fit reasonably well on at least one of the banks?

Things would probably be all kitty wampus for the other bank unless a mirror head could be cast. Maybe McLaren has a few extra heads laying around that they might surplus :-). I wish I spoke German and had connections to the engineers that worked on the 4-valve prototype M-8.

Surely in this Nitro/turbo/supercharged/6-liter stroker motor crowd, someone has probed this envelope.
