I'm just wondering, how adequate is bmw security features? Is it recommended to install you own car alarm?

Hello Alex, Any security system is only as good as it's ability to deter someone from
breaking into/stealing your car. A professional car-thief intent on taking your car, will know how to compromise almost any system. Having said that, I am of the opinion that the BMW system is a very good system as the fuel delivery system is
switched off--rendering the car undriveable--meanwhile the sounding horns and flashing lights
create enough awareness for anyone(if interested) in notifying anyone. Further the EWS system of discouraging anyone from attempting to steal the vehicle through tow-away is a definite plus. Regardless, I can not help but notice how much one hears vehicle alarms going off in public areas (i.e. airports, sporting events, shopping malls, etc.) while apparently no-one seems to care....When was the last time you actually heard a car-alarm sounding in your proximity and immediately called 911???....
