warranty that BMW issued for these cars?
If I remember correctly it was for 5 years or 100,000 miles but not sure if that is whichever occurs first or last.

If I had my choice of an out-of warranty 840 with the Nikasil cylinder liners or an M70 850 without the intakes or DK's having been replaced, I'd take the 12 Cylinder.

I personally don't mind the occaisional quirk in exchange for owning this car. If an essentially low maintenance-risk car was the most important thing to me, I would have bought a Lexus.

Also, no 840's were produced with a 6-speed.
