For those of you looking to add to a collection of unique auto's, the Nissan Skyline GTR could almost be called the E-31 of the Japanese auto scene. First built for Japan Touring Car series, the GTR's were so successful that they had to start their own racing series. With wins at Nurburgring and Spa Francorchamps, this was one potent car.
Again, like the E-31's, the GTR's were produced for 10 years with 3 models. The engines are capable of up to 600 HP (external mods), they had 4 wheel HICAS steering, computer controlled 4 wheel drive, 6 speed Gertrag's, and all the goodies and extras that we associate with the E-31's (including price as the R34's were around $85K). Their specs were good - 0-60 in 5.2 sec, 1/4 mile in 13.7 at 103MPH.
So... I just found out about these folks [see link] who import GTR's to the U.S. (I have no affiliation). You have to live with right-hand drive, but talk about conversation starters...
IMHO, this is one interesting automobile (wish I had the garage space, like Kurt does!).
:-) - Best wishes this sunny morning...
