Opinions on Mintex/Hawk brake pads? (archive)

I just upgraded my E34 to E31 front brakes. So far, I've got the dusty stock pads, but I'd like to switch to a non-dusting pad. The car is mainly used as a daily driver, but I'd like to be able to do a driver's school without having to change pads. I searched the archives to find nice reviews of Mintex pads. Has anyone tried them on the track? How about Hawk pads -- specifically the HP or HP Plus?
