After reading Rogos message, I looked through the archives for odometer tampering and found nothing! It seems this is a very sensitive issue.
I couldnt help but wonder why someone would say "we all know how easy it is". I myself thought that only the people high up at the car manufacturers would know the details of tampering with DIGITAL odometers. WELL IT SEEMS NOT!!
I put a few words into one of the search engines, and within a few minutes I have found a website where a computer can be purchased(by anybody of the street) that will change the odometer(E31 and about any other car)to any number!
I was very surprised, to say the least! How can you ever look at a cars odometer again and not think " yeah right, thats CRAP" I would put a nice bet on that almost EVERY car dealer in the WORLD has one of these computers.
AFTER ALL THEY ARE FOR REPAIR PURPOSES ONLY!! AND I SLEPT WITH PAMELA ANDERSON LAST NIGHT!!
I have lost total faith in expecting a used car to have legitimate miles on the odometer. They(the manufacturer of this device) even go as far as saying that it cant be detected when the odometer has been wound back with their device!!
Maybe I give a shit too much, maybe not. Any thoughts?
