It is difficult to decide. The new 5 may be better looking and it may be a better car. The only thing you can do to hedge your bet is to buy a new one now and trade it in for the 2002 if you think it is a better car. Then again you might discover too late that you made the wrong choice. Some people who have sold their E31 have been sorry! And some people just don't know what they want.
