The BMW dealership here charged me for six hours of labour to remove and install intake manifold gaskets and breather valves on the rear of both manifolds. This is on an M73B54 and they said the M70B50 is even easier to work on. Add 30 minutes to clear the codes with the DIS and one hour for the new plugs and the job was done. The final connections and test drive were done the next day. I got my car back in coin balancing shape, almost. The old gaskets looked in great shape to me and the tech said that the intake manifold bolts seemed loose, and you can't tell visually what the gaskets are like. Well maybe you can but they were putting new gaskets in no matter what the old ones looked like. My 95 has 30,000 miles so they changed the coolant, brake fluid, and switched the oil to 5-30 BMW synthetic. The new plugs are part number 12-12-9-061-870 E32 F8LCR which must be for an E32. If these are the wrong plugs please let me know. I also need to replace the micro filters and check the air filters. It seems that all this work is part of an inspectionII but I don't care about getting the books stamped.
