So Im driving through town on my way to Target to pick up a few things and I notice a car following me for the several mile trip. The car is making a good effort not to loose me in traffic and trying to follow close. It looked like a harmless guy in a Passat so I wasnt too concerned yet. As I arrive at the store he follows me through the parking lot and now I'm thinking ... "OK, whats going here..."
I always park in the middle of nowhere to stay away from people and he pulls in to the spot right next to me (good way to piss me off). I know there is going to be a confrontation of somekind at this point. Before I turn off the car and get out, I look over at him to see if I can pick up on any hostility. Instead, he has a grin from ear to ear and gives me a thumbs up.
After getting out of the car he says with excitement "That is most beautiful car I have ever seen!" Next comes the gas station routine we are familar with "No, its not a 2001 ... Yes its fast ... yada yada yada..." Aftwards he offers to buy the car, asking me to name my price. I chuckled and informed him it wasnt for sale. After a few more minutes of talking he left on his way and I headed into the store.
All the while Im thinking "Why cant I get any hot chicks to stalk me through town like that??" Theres always tomorrow .. (dreaming on) HAHAHA!!

I forgot how much attention these cars get. We just bought a new Mercedes ML430 that I've been driving for the past few weeks (novelty appeal for the moment). Today my wife took it so I take the 850 into town for lunch. No more than a 15 minute round trip including parking. No less than three neck snapping stares, one of which ended with... "is that the new 6 series?" People physically craned to try to read the badge or get a better look. I totally forgot how much attention these cars get. Simply amazing.
