Tony,

First of all, I do agree with you. If you do pay a premium price for work done it should be done right.

Back to my original reply. If you want it done right, sometimes the only person you can trust to do it is yourself. If you can't trust yourself to do it, perhaps you should drive a new Honda. They come with a warranty and I hear most Jiffy Lubes will change the oil at a reasonable price without a fuss. I realize this may tarnish your yuppie image, but if you can afford the repairs or can't do them yourself don't come whining here and expect any sympathy.

There isn't much mechanical ability needed to change oil. I see women in the auto parts store all the time and it isn't real hard to loosen a drain plug and watch the black stuff come out. When it stops, you put the plug back in. Then you loosen the canister under the hood, remove the old filter and replace it with the new one that is in the box. When you are done, open the little oil bottles by loosening the plastic cap on the top. Pour the oil into the filler until the bottle is empty. Be creful not to spill any, otherwise you will have the same problem you have now.

As for the BMW dealer's mechanics, they are likely no better that those at Joey's Car Corner. If they were, they would be able to count the number of quarts of oil they out in the car. I am sure the come to work with a bender the next morning just the same as the guy at Joey's. Dn't be fooled by the term "technician" that the BMW dealer gives them. They aren't wizards, it just gives them a reason to charge $20.00/hr. more than Joey.

Changing oil is easy. You have to want to do it to do it. Again, if you are worried about getting some dirt under your nails or some grease on your Dockers, I understand. However, be sure to tie some rags around your ankles so that the ants don't crawl up your legs and bite your candy ass.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you that provided input to my problem. I really appreciate it! As for you Greg, I wish I was mechanicaly inclined as you are. I realize I'm not therefore I was willing to pay a premium price to go to an authorized BMW dealership to get the job done correctly. To say someone is deserving of car problems cause they took there car to an authorized BMW dealership is as absolutely idiotic as the mechanic that did the work on my car. I can see if I took it to a gas station for work or Joey's Car Corner but when you take it to an authorized dealer you expect the work to be done correctly.

Thanks again for everyones input, these guys are definetly going to hear me on Monday and if they don't comply they will be hearing from my lawyer.
