Your story sounds like a missmatch of what happened, what you were told they were going to do and what they should have done. Too many unknowns here for me to guess. But, I will say that they should have told you in the beginning that they could only replace the waterpump and do a leak down test to determine any problems prior to starting the car, then they could plug in their computer and check for leaks of vacuum, fluid (water or oil traveling where it shouldn't go) and or engine missing or electrical problems
etc. So, they must have had your permission to change what they did, Oil pump, taking pan off should have given them a look?????? not enough info here, to little for a 3rd party here to determine. But, they definitely should not be telling you that they have to take the engine apart again after all ready having it apart......they didn't check it when it was apart??
Put together a chronoligical order of things exactly how they happened, from the beginning until now and list who said what and who did what as the story progressses until today. Then perhaps we can make some sense out of it.

MY '91 850 IS AT THE STEALER BECAUSE THE WATER PUMP WENT OUT. THE WATERPUMP,OIL PUMP,OVERFLOW TANK,FAN AND FAN CLUTCH HAVE BEEN REPLACED.THE OIL PAN WAS DROPPED. OIL AND ANTIFREEZE CHANGED. STILL THE ENGINE WILL NOT HOLD OIL PREASSURE BELOW 3000 RPM AND THE IDLE IS ROUGH FURTHERTHERE IS A SLOW COOLANT LEAK AT THE REAR OF THE ENGINE ALSOTHERE IS A SUCKING AND KNOCK ALMOST LIKE A VACUMN LEAK TRYING TO CLOSE SOMETHING.
DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS WHAT THE PROBLEM MAY BE?
