Apology to Derek & anyone interested.............. (archive)

The other night when a couple of posters were having a spat, Derek stepped in like the normal gentleman he always is to cool things down. I had done the same and as I am always looking for the humor in things I made a post in humor at the expense of Derek's continuous gentlemanly behavior and his eternal helpful efforts on behalf of everyone on the site, I mentioned Fedde in this as well.

As everyone knows, including me, humor has a lot to do with timing and a joke is sometimes very successful and gives us all a chuckle. However, sometimes a joke can go very wrong, unintentionally, in spite of all good intentions, nevertheless a big flat dud! I insist on trying even though I know I may fail and I suffer sometimes because of it. I don't mind if I fail, I enjoy the suffering, (yeah I like the whip) but others here may be very uncomfortable because of my frank and open attempts at such humor. Well some people here enjoyed this joke and and some didn't, but it is very necessary for me to point out that there is no one that I respect more than Derek on this board and my attempt at humor was just that. Sorry if it failed for some. :-( But, I'll keep trying anyway, nothing ventured, nothing gained. However, I hope I do get better quick.....
