I have driven my car 4K in 4 months and the only maintenance I have done is replace the rear shock mounts and an A/C aux fuse. My car now has 73K on it. Runs well. I had it checked out by a dealer and they told me these vehicles IF MAINTAINED are very reliable.

My father spoke to the BMW VP of the SC test track about the 850. He said that the car was a very good vehicle and very reliable. He also reiterated what everyone on this board will tell you, get a vehicle that has records and has been maintained.

I love my 850. It is what young people now days call "a phat ride". I'm 38 and out of touch! ;-) The money I have spent on my car AFTER purchase has almost all gone into things that would constitute "obsession". New paint (to remove dings, scratches), replace worn looking parts and or trim, restore leather seats to new, first aid kits, road triangles, Part CDs, 3.91 rears, etc.

Buy a good, well maintained vehicle, and have fun!!!
