As I am also needing to replace my water-pump. Is there a special tool(s) needed to isolate the bolts on the vibration-damper to loosen the central nut? Perhaps similar to the tool used to loosen the fan clutch bolt from the water pump? Any help, from anyone, who has experience with this job would be greatly appreciated... I know that recently, Phil M. posted a message regarding this..thanks to anyone/all for your help.

Hello Steve,

you have to loosen and to remove all of the outer small bolts .This will enable you to take the outer piece from the pulley off. Then there will remain an inner section, hold in place by the large bolt. This one has to be opened in order to take the flange off the crankshaft, you may have a hard time loosen this bolt up, especially that those bolts are usually be mounted with Locktite on the tread.
And in addition you may need a pulley to remove the inner section ( flange) off the hub.

Good luck !

Jurgen
